Rockies-Cubs rained out; day-night DH set for Wednesday

Jose Abreu´s first-inning blast leads White Sox over Jays

Jose Abreu hit a three-run home run in the first inning to get things started Tuesday night, and right-hander Dylan Cease struck out seven in seven innings to lead the visiting Chicago White Sox to a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Rays activate Nelson Cruz, who plays 1B for first time

Tampa Bay Rays veteran Nelson Cruz was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday and 168.232.50.40 found himself playing first base for the first time in his career.

Wales' Ramsey could miss World Cup qualifiers due to injury

Nerlens Noel sues ex-agent Rich Paul for lost potential salary

New York Knicks center Nerlens Noel filed a lawsuit against his former agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, alleging breach of fiduciary duty and negligence toward him as a client.

Noel claimed in the suit, filed Monday in Dallas and first reported by Sports Agent her latest blog, that Paul led him astray when he was a restricted free agent in 2017 and cost him $58 million in possible salary.

The crux of Noel’s grievance lies within how Paul became his agent in 2017.

The former No. 6 overall draft pick met Paul at a birthday party for one of Paul’s clients, Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons.

Noel was considering a four-year, nieuws.rvent.nl $70 million offer from the Dallas Mavericks, his team at the time, but Paul told him he could be a “$100 million man” if he fired agent Happy Walters and hired him instead, according to the suit.

Noel started 41 games in his 62 appearances for New York last season, marking the highest number of starts for him since 2015-16.

Footy star George Burgess under investigation

Rugby league star George Burgess is being investigated by  Police and lifealocal.com the Integrity Unit after an alleged road rage incident.

The English forward, who is headed to NRL club St George Illawarra next season, is alleged to have left his vehicle in Wollongong on the NSW south coast after noticing he was being filmed by another person in a truck on Monday night. 

Burgess, 29, has reportedly identified the person in the truck as the aggressor in the incident. 

The English international allegedly got out of his car, took the phone off the other person and threw it onto the road, resulting in police being notified.

St George Illawarra told the NRL integrity unit after police were informed of the incident. 

‘St George Illawarra are aware of an alleged road incident involving 2022 recruit George Burgess,’ the club said in a statement. 

‘As the police are currently investigating the matter, the Dragons will be making no further comment at this stage.’

Burgess arrived back in Australia and went into hotel quarantine in late July, after signing on to play with the St George Illawarra Dragons until 2023.

The 29-year-old British expat arrived with his family after playing for the Wigan Warriors in the English SuperLeague for the past year.

Returning from a year off, UConn big underdog at Fresno State

Jake Haener looks to build upon an impressive first season with Fresno State on Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs open the 2021 campaign against visiting UConn.

Upon transferring from Washington last year, Haener threw for 2,021 yards with 14 touchdowns for Fresno State, with just five interceptions.

He had four 300-yard performances for the Bulldogs, who posted a 3-3 record in six games against Mountain West opponents.

Haener will have a bevy of familiar targets at his disposal as he attempts to exploit UConn’s secondary. The Bulldogs are listed as much as a four-touchdown favorite over the Huskies in the season opener.

Jalen Cropper led Fresno State receivers last season in catches (37), receiving yards (520) and touchdowns (five).

He is joined by Keric Wheatfall (23, 363, one) and Josh Kelly (22, 330, one), among others.
